Sports are about those incredible moments where sheer human will and desire overcomes the odds. Sports days are occasions for imparting lessons on sportsman spirit and camaraderie to students, besides commemorating victories. Our campus celebrates Sports day every year with much zeal and excitement. The day begins with a welcome speech delivered by the Head of the Department of Physical Education. Later, the Principal of our college takes the salute of the colourful march past of our students in the backdrop of the music band. The march past of the students is a competition event, conducted department wise and the best performing department emerges as the winner. Each department has the Head Girl holding a beautifully decorated placard bearing the name of the Department and a message and the students of the department dressed in colour co-ordinated costumes follow the Head Girl in march past by synchronised moves to finish in a formation at the Centre of the playground decorated with flags, festoons and buntings. The Sports Captain administers the oath, following which the students enter into the spirit of the occasion. The competition for various events both individual and group, are then conducted under the aegis of the Department of Physical Education. The power packed performances of the contestants across varied track and field events mesmerise the audience. Inter-department tournaments for students as well as sports activities for the staff including the Musical chair and Tug of War competition are the day's attraction. There is competition as well as a spirit of goodwill as students from various streams come together to participate, compete and win prizes. The campus reverberates with enthusiastic cheers from the spectators all through the events. Later in the day, the award ceremony is conducted calling upon the winners to the Victory Stand and distributing the trophies. The Best March Past trophy and the Overall champion trophy, along with trophies for the winners of various sports events are given away by the Principal and the Head of the Physical Education Department of our college, amidst resounding applause, marking the end of the day. The Principal declares the Sports meet closed and the Sports Captain proposes the Vote of Thanks followed by the National anthem.
