Induction Program

The induction programme conducted by our college at the commencement of every academic year for the first year undergraduate and postgraduate students is aimed at acclimatising them with the new surroundings and developing bond with fellow students as well as teachers. The programme is conducted by inviting a person of repute from any of the distinguished departments for a motivational/ educational talk to cover variegated aspects like enabling the new entrants to socialise with their peer groups and to familiarise them with the new environment. It is also intended to impart most helpful guidelines and productive suggestions to students in pursuing the subject they chose to study. Following the formal inauguration of the programme, the students are made aware of the various facets of their academic life and the policies of the college pertaining to matters of ragging, punctuality, attendance, the University's legal stands on examination malpractices etc. A brief overview on the importance of maintaining the beauty of the college premises by keeping it as a platsic-free zone, the appropriate disposal of personal hygiene products through the proper management of incinerators etc expected of the students are also detailed in the induction programme. An elaborate explanatory class for the students on the Choice Based Credit and Semester System (CBCSS) and the process of continuous evaluation (CE) along with a detailed scrutiny of their respective syllabi is also done at the end of every induction programme session.

The induction programme for the academic year 2023-24 was conducted on 15 November 2023 at the college auditorium. Dr S.V. Sudheer, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Sree Narayana Guru Open University inaugurated the programme and he led the mentoring session by delivering a motivational talk to the newly inducted students of the college. His talk touched upon the nuances of how students need to connect with the faculty members and thereby building a healthy relationship between the students and the teachers. He also highlighted the necessity of students to explore oneself and thereby allowing them to experience the joy of learning. Mr Arun Kumar S., ASI, Cyber Crime Police Station delivered a talk on cyber crime which is rampant in the contemporary society. The rules and regulations of the college was explained to the students by Dr Seena Gopinath, Associate Professor of Home Science. Dr Manju A., Co-ordinator of Green Protocol Committee elaborated on the necessity of maintaining green protocol in the college campus. Dr S.K. Subash, Dr Prabhavathy C., Mr Mahesh Kumar V., Dr Lekshmi V.S., Captain Lekshmi Gopidas and Dr Devipriya D also spoke on the occasion to make the students aware of different types of scholarships, E-Grants, CBCSS, Club activities, NCC and NSS of the college. Dr Vidya D.R., Secretary, Staff Association welcomed the gathering and Dr Aswathy Sugunan, Principal of the college presided over the function. Dr Lalini M.S., Secretary of PTA proposed the vote of thanks.
